What we collect

When you sign up we collect your account details (your email address, or your Google account if you choose “Continue with Google”) and the profile you give us: a handle, your town/city, state and country, age and (optionally) sex. As you play we store the drinks you log — including any photos you add to a manual log — your points, ranks, badges and the squads you belong to.

Location (optional, per scan)

When you log a drink you can choose to tag where you are. If you allow it, we store the approximate coordinates and the nearest venue for that scan. It's optional every single time — you can skip it, and we never track your location in the background.

Why we collect it

Your town/state/country power the city, state, country and world leaderboards. Your age confirms you're of legal drinking age. The rest runs the game (scoring, squads, ranks) and, if you opt in, sends you notifications when squadmates scan.

Who can see it

Your handle, city and points appear on leaderboards and in squads you join. We use trusted providers (Neon for the database, Vercel for hosting, Resend for email, Open Food Facts to look up barcodes) to run the service.

Sharing data with brewers (optional, opt-in)

We do not share your drinking data with anyone unless you switch on “Share anonymized data” in your profile — it is off by default. If you turn it on, your logged drinks may be included in aggregated, anonymizedinsights we provide to drinks producers — for example “IPA scans rose 20% among 18–24s in Sydney this month”. These reports never contain your name, account, handle or individual logs, and can't be used to identify you. You can turn sharing off any time in your profile; reports generated afterwards will exclude your data.

Notifications

If you enable mate alerts we store a push subscription for your browser. You can turn this off any time from your profile.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, change your units, leave squads, turn notifications and data-sharing on or off, and delete your account and all its data — all from within the app (your profile page).

Children

The app is strictly for people aged 18+ and isn't directed at children.
